Tangram Theatre Company presents a new version of Lope de Vega's Fuente Ovejuna
DISCOVERING LATIN AMERICA RECOMMENDS

August 9th 2010 - August 28th 2010
Show starts: 7.30pm Mon-Sat, 3pm Sat Matinees
Running time: 120 mintues (including interval)
Venue: Southwark Playhouse
In 1472, the villagers of Fuente Ovejuna stood up to a tyrant and
inspired a nation. Famous for its revolutionary fervour and bucolic
joy, Fuente Ovejuna is one of the great masterpieces of the Spanish
Golden Age.
Performed by an eleven strong ensemble of London's finest (actors) on a bare stage, a live band every night and an irreverent selection of props including frisbees, water-bombs and toilet fresheners, we welcome you to the village of Fuente Ovejuna where it's all about to kick off!
Director Daniel Goldman and award-winning Tangram return to the Southwark Playhouse for the first time since their award winning Richard III (2007) to present the first London revival of Lope's world classic since the National's Olivier Award winning production of 21 years ago.
N.B. We recommend you dress accordingly as you may, of your own free will, decide to get dirty and/or wet during the show.
