Financial Year 2005

During our Financial Year 2004-2005, Discovering Latin America officially stared its operations in the UK and registered with the UK Charity Commission: no. 1106705.

The main events that Discovering Latin America organised during this period included:

Rhythms of Latin America:
A two-days celebration of Latin America’s music and dance artistic expressions. Approximately 650 people attended it and £2,500 were raised for Peace Brigades International project in Guerrero, Mexico.

Third Discovering Latin America Film Festival:
In its third edition, the festival showcased a great selection of Latin American Films in 5 locations of Central London (including Odeon Covent Garden, Odeon Panton Street, the Ritzy Cinema, ICA and LAB). It attracted 2000 visitors and a total of £10,500 were raised for ‘Fundacion Compromiso’ in Argentina.

Discoveirng Latin America’ participation in the Chirstmas fair organised by the Anglo Latin American Foundation.
