Financial Year 2006

During our Financial Year 2005-2006 strengthened its operations. More than 100 volunteers from 15 different countries participated in our organisation. We also redefined the structure of our leadership team in order to operate more effectively and drafted a series of principles and values to guide our work. , Discovering Latin America officially stared its operations in the UK and registered with the UK Charity Commission: no. 1106705

The main events that Discovering Latin America organised during this period included:

Fourth Discovering Latin America Film Festival:
In its fourth edition, the festival presented four different sections: Feature Films, Short Films, Documentaries and Cultural Events. The festival attracted more than 3000 visitors and, at the end, we donated £7,285 for Project Peru in Lima, Peru.

At the end of calendar year 2005, we organised an educational day for the members of the Latin American Elderly People’s project in London.
