Financial Year 2008

Discovering Latin America continued growing as an organisation.  During the financial year 2007-2008 we organised 3 main fundraising activities:

Casa Theathre Festival:
In partnership with Tanagram Theatre, we launched the first Latinamerica Theatre Festival CASA from the 1st of October to the 3rd of November at the Crypt in St Andrews Church.  We presented theatre plays from three Latin American countries: Argentina, El SAlvador and Mexico.  We fundreaised £2.000 for Pro-mujer in Nicaragua. A total of 650 visitors attended the festival.

Rhythms Nights, Music and Dance Events:
We continued presenting music and dance events but this year we change the format for a night club events.  We organise a party to celebrate the "Day of the Dead" at Scala on the 3rd of November.

7th Editon of the Discovering Latin Ameria Film Festival:
Presenting more than 50 films in 4 locations of Central London, including: Odeon Covent Garden, Odeon Panton Street, the Ritzy Cinema and Tate Modern. Approximately 3000 people attended it and a total of £6,500 were donated to TASK Brazil.
